The Secretary of Education has issued a notice of proposed rulemaking that will establish the National Instructional Materials Accessibility Standard (NIMAS) under IDEA. The purpose of the NIMAS is to increase the availability and timely delivery of print instructional materials in accessible formats to blind or other individuals with print disabilities in elementary and secondary educational settings.
